As residents of the area since the early 70's, we remember Diamond Valley as mostly open land. Rapid building did not really take off until the mid 1980's. With the success of neighboring Yavapai Hills, it seems that developers were likely interested in capitalizing on Prescott's rapid growth. Due to a lack of oversight, Diamond Valley residents have had endure issues with water and taxes over the years, although today, those issues are mostly solved.
