The most up-to-date real estate information on homes and land, prices and market value, in Humboldt for . Since 2004, Humboldt and Dewey are now a combined town known as Dewey-Humboldt, in the southeast area of Prescott. Historically, the towns were separate, sleepy little communities consisting mostly of mobile homes and folks wanting to live near the Big Bug Creek and Aqua Fria River. Today, people are discovering the rugged beauty of this location, and Humboldt just may be the next big thing for real estate investing.
Humboldt is a Dewey-based community and offers many features home buyers and builders can appreciate. Residents of the Humboldt area are most likely to be generational families that have come down from the farmers and ranchers of the mid-late 1800's. Although Young's Farm was a huge attraction for half a century; drawing folks from hundreds of mile to its annual pumpkin festival, the area was largely a blink to travelers navigating to Prescott from Phoenix. Of course back in the day, Dewey and Humboldt were necessary stops for wagons and horses carrying goods to the people along the base of the Bradshaws. Towns such as Cleator, Bumble Bee, Bradshaw City, and of course Crown King were all bustling camps and villages brimming with excitement over huge gold deposits just west in the Bradshaws. People still mine and pan these areas along the Hassayampa and Lynx Creek waterways in hopes to find "the big one", and some do.
In 2004, the towns of Dewey and Humboldt came together and were incorporated as Dewey-Humboldt. Historically, locals believed the town of Dewey started around where Prescott Country Club is located today, and continued until one reached Youngs Farm. Beyond the hills just south of Youngs Farm was considered Humboldt. Today there is a cute little saloon-style business district, located near the Chevron station, that used to be the main road into Humboldt.

Heading up into the hills on horseback to check on one's livestock or to scour the ground with a metal detector is fairly normal activity. Back country off-roading and hiking are also popular pastimes.
The area is rife with wildlife, as is much of the Arizona back country. Be on the lookout for rattlesnakes, javelina, and of course the elusive cougar. It is not unusual to see a snake dangling from the clutches of a hawk if you take time to look to the skies.

Both are built along separate golf courses and have clubhouses, pools, and gyms. While other incorporated areas are created exclusively for the folks looking space. 10+ acres with permission for livestock and horses are the norm in the outlying areas of Humboldt.
